ELECTRONIC DISCOVERY: METADATA AUDITING
In addition to native file production (e.g. Word, Excel, email) and conversion to image, is the underlying Metadata. Metadata is similar to page numbers in a book: it tells the reader where they are.
An independent metadata audit can reveal holes, missing and/or orphaned data, ambiguities and discrepancies in a document production. Verifying data integrity prior to production provieds an extra layer of quality control.
